Presenting: the titles I’m interested in reading in 2023—the ones that have been announced, that is, because you’ll notice things are a bit sparse after July.
It looks a superb year for books of all genres, with loads of established and new authors, lots from writers of African descent, and even that prince of some tiny island.
Thanks to the generosity of many presses, I have plenty of advance copies already in my library. Special thanks to Megan Fishmann (VP/AP, Publicity for Counterpoint/Catapult); and thanks, too, to publishers that provide ARCs through NetGalley and Edelweiss.
I’ll be writing about many of these titles through 2023, but I don’t expect to be able to read every single one. Also, I anticipate that I will be adding a few that haven’t been announced yet, and even some from the backlist. (I don’t expect to leave the house at all this year, or even possibly my bed.) So, yes, it’s wonderful to have so much to look forward to; I’m excited!
Let’s read!

*A small note on how I prepared this list: I’ve spent the last few weeks logging all of these books—with metadata—in Obsidian, to make writing about them easier. Although I still use Goodreads, I manage my reading lists (and all of my writing) in Obsidian now. I will put up a post at some point about how.
