Genre: Fiction/Weird; short story anthology.
In this anthology of twelve short stories, Ms Fu introduces us to a girl with feathers sprouting from her legs, a woman with a gun and a June bug infestation, a couple with a printer in their basement to bring themselves back when they kill each other, and a woman who tries to recreate memory for her clients when everyone’s sense of taste disappears, among others.
Most of these stories were wonderful to read, but perhaps not really memorable—a little like consuming a slushie or similar, a sensation that’s easily forgotten. The collection felt very much like something that came out of a workshop, more stylistic than anything, and I did not really connect with it. Still a good read, though.
